Opened in 1882 this station was serviced by the Grand Trunk Railway until 1923 when it switched servicing as the government merged multiple lines into the Canadian National Railways.
The community was founded as a minor crossroads that provided services to the surrounding agricultural areas. GTR railway facilities included a freight shed and passing siding. Just to the north of the community is the Canada Southern Railway. This line did not establish station facilities in Moulton, preferring to do so just to the west in Attercliffe and east in Montague.
Based on "telegraphony," the induction telegraph was created in 1887. Prior to its creation, moving trains were unable to communicate with each other or with rail stations, resulting in dangerous situations.
